I recently launched my second kayak build, a Black Pearl. 

The project (drawings, strips, and epoxy) was offered for sale just after I finished my first build (a Nanoq). Someone had bought it back in 2008 and never got around to starting. It seemed to good to pass up and I’m glad I did. 

It’s been fun to build, and I am quite pleased with the finished result. I do dream of a workshop that allows me to maintain proper heat for working with epoxy during the colder months though. Any woodworker's dream I suppose. 

Final weight, including 2 Whetman hatches, Kajaksport skeg and lines, ended up at 20.5kg
