Frej in England

Jeff visar det rätt skrämmande vädersystemet som drog in under hans Japan-runt-paddling

Just before the weekend, we (Mikkel Molin from Struer and me) took a quick trip to Exeter in Devon to introduce Struer Frej. Behind the initiative was Jeff Allen (Sea Kayaking Cornwall), who on a teaching trip to Nautopp in Sweden got to try the kayak, and found a potential candidate for his next expedition (northern Norway).

Together with AS Watersport in Exeter, he arranged an event, where at first Jeff talked about his earlier expeditions, circumnavigating Japan, South Georgia and Ireland and paddling expeditions in Norway, Sweden, Alaska, Scotland etc.

After Jeff, I took over the stage and presented the thoughts and the design process behind and the development of Frej. Some 60 paddlers were present and it was half past eleven before all question were answered and we could head back to the hotel.

After a very good discussion with Jeff over breakfast the morning after, we could fly back home to Denmark and Sweden with hopes for a good start for Frej in England.

Två nya Frej packades upp hos AS Watersport för att fungera som prov- och demokajaker hos Jeff I Cornwall och AS Watersport i Devon

Two new Frej were delivered to Exeter to be test and demo kayaks with Jeff in Cornwall and AS Watersport in Devon the coming weeks.

This was a very well informed and interesting talk about sea kayak design.
