Going back the wind increased to a force 5 westerly, quickly producing a steep unpredictable sea - a not uncommon condition in the narrow sound between Sweden and Denmark and with current and wind in different directions. 18 kilometer, plus some rolling outside the harbour entrance.

Chris´black Black Pearl after refinishing
Chris Russo´s Black Pearl, delivered from Dan Caouette at Clear Stream Fine Woodworking with a light grey waterbased marine finish, had to return to the shop for refinishing, after problems with peeling paint (some of my paddling collegues will remember me contaminating a pool with paint flakes from my prototype BP).

Petrus and Iréne from Petrus Kajak in Tranås visited on a purchasing trip - a couple of news kayak plans, some epoxy, glass and carbon fiber cloth etc for the winter: kayaks for their own use, a couple of ordered kayaks and canoes and for the builders renting place (and help) in the kayakshop. Of course we found time for a short trip in the sound as well.
